When She'd Given Everything
When She’d Given Everything
Will polio steal what Florence has worked so hard to build?
Or will she learn that some things can’t be taken away?
Florence, a 1950s Michigan housewife, has the family she’s always dreamed of—her husband, Howard, and their two children. When their daughter, Jane, contracts polio, Howard grows distant and moody. Driven by misplaced guilt from her childhood, Florence throws herself into visiting Jane in the hospital, cleaning the house, and baking. After Howard finds out William, their son, has been stealing, Howard gives his wife an ultimatum. If Jane can’t walk, she’ll need to go to an institution. Can Florence keep her family together, even when a secret is revealed?
